On February 12th, Brandon McMorris was transported to UF Health with a gunshot wound. He later died from these injuries. Two individuals claim they picked McMorris up from 13th St. and Payne Ave and drove him to the hospital.

On Tuesday, February 7th, 2017, about 10pm, near the intersection of W. 31st Street and Pearce Street, 66 year old Sarah Joshua was killed when a stolen SUV crashed into her Moncrief home and struck her while she was sitting on a couch watching TV.
A silver 2004 Lincoln Aviator smashed through a concrete-block wall into the den area, struck Sarah Joshua and continued through the home into the backyard then the driver ran away.
Joshua was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 43 year old nephew, who was in another section of the house, was not injured.

On Thursday, January 26th, Maurice Hobbs Jr. was shot and killed just before 10 p.m. on Agave Road near Cortez Road, the Jacksonville Sheriff`s Office said. Maurice turned 18 just two days before.
Detectives interviewed several witnesses, including some who said they saw a black car driving away from the scene.

A man who has not been identified yet was found dead in a dumpster after firefighters doused a fire inside the dumpster 1229 Clark Street on Jacksonville`s Eastside. Doctors later ruled his death a homicide. Police said the man had a medical device implanted in his spinal cord.

Police suspect foul play in the death of the man, who police later identified as Jacob Kellner. Police said Kellner was fully dressed.
Detectives said it`s unclear how long Kellner`s body had been there.

Officers are trying to figure out who shot and killed a 31-year-old man early Monday on Lynton Street, off Norwood Avenue, in the city`s Tallulah neighborhood.
The Jacksonville Sheriff`s Office found Chauncey McNair lying in the road off Norwood Avenue about 2:20 a.m. Monday, Jan 16th, with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where he died.
Family members told News4Jax that the house where McNair was shot was not his home, and they don`t know why he was there.
Investigators are searching for the gunman and checking the neighborhood for surveillance. They have not released any suspect information.

Monday`s double shooting at the Jacksonville Landing that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old boy was connected to a double shooting of two teenagers at the downtown Art Walk 10 days earlier, and Sheriff Mike Williams said Tuesday the shooting was likely gang-related.
Khamoi Petersen died after the Monday afternoon shootings and a 13-year-old boy also shot suffered non-life-threatening injuries and has not been named.

Police said Kareem Hagan, 22, died after the 3:53 p.m. shooting at the intersection of 18th and Main streets, which in the greater Springfield area, but outside the historic Springfield zone. On Monday, police said 17-year-old Marquis Marquez died of his injuries at UF Health Jacksonville.

Police said Kyle Connor Gay, 23, was walking south on Rowe Avenue at about 1 a.m. Sunday, pushing a shopping cart, when he and another person were struck from behind by a car near Gainesville Road off Lem Turner.
Police said a light-colored vehicle struck the men, who were both taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where Gay died. The second person`s injuries were described as non-life-threatening. His name was not released.
Kyle Gay`s shopping cart was left mangled from the impact.
Police are searching for the truck, which possibly has front-end damage. They said the driver turned left on Gainesville Road and never turned around.
