Police Find Mans Body in NW Jax Ditch (2017/10/17)

On Sunday, October 15th, a man was found dead in a ditch on Armstrong Street near the intersection of Lem Turner Road, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said. 

The Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department arrived at the area about 9 a.m. and found the body of a John Fairclough, 38, police said.

Attached is a composite sketch of the unknown suspect for the incident on Portsmouth Avenue.  The suspect was described as a black male, 20-25 years of age, 5’6”-5’8”, 160-170 pounds.  The suspect was described as having a faded afro hairstyle and was wearing a grey shirt and jeans.

William "Will" Chrisman Killed After Breaking Up a Fight (2017/09/28)

33-year-old William "Will" Chrisman was shot and killed early Wednesday, Sept. 27th,  in the parking lot of a Westside strip club, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.  He was a father and military veteran.

Loved ones said Chrisman worked as a security guard at Flash Dancers Gentlemen's Club on Blanding Boulevard at San Juan Avenue. Chrisman was trying to break up a huge fight that broke out about 1 a.m. inside the club after a man hit one of the dancers, according to friends.

Police said the altercation carried out into the parking lot, where a gunman and another man got into a vehicle then shot Chrisman as they were driving away. 

Chrisman was taken to a hospital, where he died. 

Homicide detectives interviewed witnesses and reviewed surveillance video from inside the club. Investigators said there were several persons of interest, but no suspects were identified.

Tyreak Wyche Murder (2017/09/20)

STATUS: Open
On Tuesday, September 19th, police identified a 19-year-old man killed in a shooting last week in the Biltmore area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. 

Tyreak Wyche, of Jacksonville, was the victim of the homicide, police said. Officers responded about 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 to the deadly shooting on Shenandoah Avenue near the intersection of Old Kings Road and Edgewood Avenue North.

Christopher Bing, 25 (2017/09/05)

On Thursday, August 31st, Christopher Bing was killed and another man was injured in a shooting outside the Kings Ridge apartment complex on West 12th Street, not far from Kings Road, in Northwest Jacksonville. Both victims were taken to the hospital, where Bing died. Police had no description of a suspect.

Marvin Hartley, 27 (2017/08/22)

On Friday August 18th, Marvin Hartley was killed and another man was badly injured in a double shooting that stemmed from a dispute on King Street at Fleming Street -- just north of Interstate 10 in the Mixon Town area, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said. Police said a Black Buick sedan was seen taking off north on King Street after the shooting. No other description of a possible suspect was given.

Maurice Amos, Jr. (2017/08/22)

On Monday August 21st, Maurice Amos, Jr.  was shot five times in his head, arms and body on Fernandina Avenue and later died at UF Health. Witnesses said that Amos was inside the home when he received a telephone call and stepped outside, where he was approached by an unknown vehicle and briefly spoke to the occupant(s) before an unknown person inside the vehicle shot him multiple times. The vehicle then drove off. Officers did not have a description of the car or the shooter.

Ra'Kwon Backey, 19 Killed on Shelby Creek Road South (2017/08/09)

On Tuesday, August 1st,  Ra'Kwon Backey was shot and killed in the driveway of his Westside home on Shelby Creek Road South. Police had no information about a suspect. His family said he had no enemies  a lot of friends, and they don't know of any recent arguments he had with anyone.

On Saturday, August 5th, Anthony Myers was shot and killed in the city's Mid-Westside neighborhood on West 17th Street and Moncrief Road. Police had no information about a possible shooter.

Malcolm Osborne, 24 (2017/07/26)

On Tuesday, July 25th, Malcom Osborne was killed in a triple shooting near a Golfair Boulevard Raceway gas station in Northwest Jacksonville. One of the other men injured had critical injuries and the other was expected to be OK. Police did not know if the shooting was random or targeted and had no description of a shooter or shooters.

Christopher Thurston, 20 (2017/07/25)

On Sunday, July 23rd, Christopher Thurston was killed and another person was wounded in a double shooting at a Mobil gas station on Blanding Boulevard at Duclay Road on Jacksonville's Westside. The unnamed second victim was apparently hit by a stray slug. Police said Thurston and another man were arguing when the second man pulled a gun and fired a shot. Police said they're searching for the gunman, who is described as a black man between the ages of 30 and 40, wearing a black shirt and black jeans.

On Wednesday, July 19th, Eldridge Beauford was in a parked car outside the Three Brothers Game Room at 24th and Pearls streets in the Brentwood area when three men walked up and fired multiple shots into the vehicle, hitting him multiple times and killing him, police said. Police have not released any description of the shooters but said they were picked up by a sedan that drove off.

Tyon Blair, 17, Found Dead in Sandalwood (2017/07/19)

On 07-12-17 , at 5:12 pm,  patrol officers responded to the intersection of Kusaie Dr. and Mareeba Avenue in reference to a person shot.  Officers located a witness who directed them to the location of the victim.  The victim was located in a wooded area near a retention canal located behind a residential area.  The victim appeared to have suffered at least one gunshot wound. 

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office identified the victim as 17 year old, Tyon Kentre Blair.

Tradarius Alexander Found Dead on Detroit Street (2017/07/12)

STATUS: OPEN

The 18-year-old man fatally shot Sunday in the city's Woodstock neighborhood early Sunday morning has been identified as Tradarius Rashaud Alexander.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responding to Detroit Street near Commonwealth Avenue about 6:20 a.m. found the man dead in the middle of the street. Police said he suffered at least one gunshot wound.

Alexander lived on Hartridge Street, less than a half mile from where he was found dead. When releasing his name on Tuesday, police only said this continues to be an active investigation.

A neighbor told News4Jax that hearing a man was found shot to death is no surprise to him, saying he hears “too many gunshots” in the area.

According to records, within the last month, there's been three burglary calls, two reports of grand theft, two domestic violence calls, and two car thefts within a mile radius of this shooting.

“We will continue to canvas and talk to neighbors in an attempt to locate witnesses,” an officer told News4Jax on Sunday. “If anyone saw anything, if they can contact us, we would appreciate that. We are going to check all the residences to see if anyone has video”

Glen McNeil, Jr. Killed in Jax Beach (2017/07/06)

On Wednesday, July 5th (after the July 4th Celebration) , Glen McNeil Jr. 23, was shot and killed about 1 a.m. outside Surfer The Bar, near the intersection of First Avenue North and First Street.  A second man, who police have not named, was shot in the hand and hospitalized.
 
 No arrests have been made.

Corey Spann, 21, Killed at Phillips and University (2017/07/05)

On July 2nd, Corey Spann was killed and another person was critically injured during a shooting near the intersection of Philips Highway and University Boulevard in the Englewood neighborhood. Witnesses said people in two cars were shooting at each other. Police have not identified any suspects.

Kenard Hendley Homicide (2017/06/06)

A man shot in the back Sunday afternoon between two buildings of the Moncrief Village Apartments on Flynn Court has died, the Jacksonville Sheriff`s Office said.

Kenard Hendley, 22, was shot about 3 p.m. He was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, but could not be saved.

Newbolt Court-Man Killed-Woman Injured in Double Shooting (2017/06/06)

A man was killed and a woman injured Sunday night in a shooting on Newbolt Court on Jacksonville`s Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff`s Office.

Officers were called to the scene around 8:30 p.m. and found the man dead. The woman was found down the road. Detectives did not say how severe her injuries were. The man has been identified as Hakeem Rashad Busch, 35, of Jacksonville.
