| | 9/17/2008 - Loop Restaurant Robbed Twice Within a Matter of Weeks | |
For the second time in a matter of weeks, a popular San Marco restaurant has been robbed. An employee of The Loop told police he was leaving the restaurant late Saturday night when two robbers forced him back inside and demanded cash. The Loop location on San Marco Boulevard was also robbed in July. The victims of the most recent robbery told the sheriff`s office the two unknown robbers forced them face down on the ground and demanded the money from the register and the money from restaurant`s safe. "The individuals believe the one individual was holding a gun. The specifics of that gun are unknown, or what he was holding. They did feel threatened," Bujeda said. She said the robbers got away with an unspecified amount of money, and she said the recent robbery might have been committed by some of the same people involved in the July robbery. The witnesses told investigators that neither of the men involved in the robbery made an attempt to cover their faces, so police believe they should be able to get a good description of the men from the victims and surveillance cameras.
If you have any information that could help police solve the case is asked to call First Coast Crime Stoppers @ 866-845-TIPS you can remain anonymous and could be elgible for a cash reward.

| | 9/9/2008 - $11,000 Reward Offered in Shooting of Jaguars Player | |
Teammates and family members of Jaguars lineman Richard Collier have pooled together $10,000 to add to the $1,000 reward already offered by First Coast Crime Stoppers. "We really need the community to reach out to First Coast Crime Stoppers and provide us tips on this crime," said Sheriff Rutherford. First Coast Crime Stoppers has only recieved two tips since bullets flew into Collier`s parked car last week. "Hopefully this additional money will generate some information," said Crime Stoppers Executive Director Wyllie Hodges. "Money talks and it`s unfortunate but people will tell you a lot of things for a little money, and they`ll say a lot of things for a lot of money," he added. Collier, shot a week ago Tuesday, remains hospitalized in critical condition. Collier`s agent told First Coast News Tuesday that Collier remains critical with his family by his side. The family is waiting until doctors can clearly say what they`re dealing with before releasing specifics of his condition to his fans. "Mr. Collier was the target of this assault," said Dennis Sullivan, the lead detective in the case. The shooting happened outside a home in Riverside where Collier and former Jaguars player Kenneth Pettway stopped to wait on two women with whom they had been out clubbing. One of the women who says she had been dating Collier casually over the last three months said she needed to use the bathroom at her home before going over to Collier`s house. Once inside, she heard gunshots. Police said the unknown gunman apparently walked up to the Cadillac Escalade with Collier in the passenger seat and opened fire. Collier got shot multiple times; Pettway walked away unharmed. Detectives won`t say how many times Collier got shot. Investigators also won`t release any details on a description of the gunman. The Sheriff says the investigation so far shows Collier did not get into any type of altercation the evening of the shooting. The woman who was with Collier that night told First Coast News last week she overheard Collier talking about an altercation from an earlier date. "Don`t be afraid to come out and talk with us," said detective Sullivan. "This is a danger for everybody, not just a danger for Mr. Collier."
